Mind The Gap: Authoritarian Parenting.

This story is heartbreaking and shows the dangers of authoritarian parenting [we are not pointing fingers]. There is a thin line between ‘Strict’ or ‘firm’ parenting and ‘authoritarian’ parenting, which we should be mindful about. Authoritarian parenting is the main default in many African countries. Most safeguarding issues arise from this. How do we shift from our own upbringing experience and background to a more supportive parenting style without losing our parental authority or cultural values?
